Don’t Redirect Sovereignty

Gospel, Philosophy

I think there are a couple points to be noted from this video.  One, pretentiousness is a dangerous commodity.  I often think that pride can inhibit our own inward reflection and prohibit us from correcting our own errors.  We as fallible beings, sometimes need to ask foolish, uneducated questions as part of the learning process.  Though if we create faulty thinking and continue in it, we will be leading ourselves further away from truth and into a construct of our own making.  If God is gracious enough to correct, if our conscious is dinged in the process, then we are ultimately glad because the humbling and correction are good.  Growth is sometimes uncomfortable.  Two, it’s important to understand the true motives that drive our questions and understandings.  The Gospel is important for daily living because it causes us to compare our outward actions and inward thoughts to the standards of God.  The Gospel keeps us mindful of the great cost required for our salvation and also reminds us of our position in everyday life, one of a repentant yet still sinful man totally dependent upon Christ for his existence.
